This Saturday is the model car Showdown, which I've been going to for, who knows how long.  There's 3 model contests I attend yearly, and this is the only one that's strictly car, trucks, and motorcycle models.  Also this weekend (sunday) is the North Texas Irish Festival, I'll be going to that with my gf. I've only been twice, and it's loads of fun! It's at Fair park, so it's pretty much like the state fair here,  but Irish themed  lol, lots of food, crafts, games, even Deloreans!

On a separate note, my car is back from the bodyshop,  and looks flawless! If that would have happened to me with my Taurus ,  I wouldn't bother with having it fixed. But in this case, I traded in the taurus, for the impreza,  and didn t even have it long before somebody hit it, so I really wanted it fixed and looking good again.  Never found out who hit my car though. I'm just glad I only had to pay around $200 for a $600ish repair.  It hurt my wallet some, but atleast I'm not broke, and can still make to the model car contest to shop around for bargins :)
Don't get me wrong I want to strangle who hit my car and drove off,  but the odds of finding them are pretty slim...hopefully they're living in fear watching their back afraid that the police are looking for them.

I'm sorry I keep disappearing from time to time, I've been thinking about you guys a abunch. I hope everyone is doing well! So much has happened since I last logged in. Been through a few jobs here and there, came back to my old job, running a waterjet and I've been for some time. I have an awesome girlfriend who loves antiqueing,  and car shows, I've been with her since May of last year. Most importantly........I just bought a new car! I've had this itch to get a Subaru, so I found a full loaded 2017 Impreza hatchback, in metallic blue, a that fit my budget. It was a loaner car for the dealer and has around 12000 miles, so It was a really good deal :)  Sadly A few weekends ago, somebody hit it in the parkinglot, scratched and pushed in the rear corner of the bumper,  and the asshat  who hit it didnt leave note or anything! The good news is, since I filed a police report,  insurance is paying most of it, and all I have to pay is about  $200.
I have several things I need to post here, and I promise I'll be more active :)
Shoot me a message if anyone wants to catch up!

Alive!

4 min read
Well guys, here I am again, I really need to get active again on here. Kinda had a lot going on with me. First of all, relationship issues. My girlfriend and I broke up awhile back, we just pretty much drifted apart. Before we broke up, she started  smoking, which I have a strong opinion against, not only its trashy, but it's harmful to your health, and anyone around you :/ I was bugging her and bugging her to quit, she kept promising to stop but never did. She thought if you didn't do it often, you won't get addicted and it won't hurt you. She pretty much thought I was crazy for caring about her health and didn't know what I was talking about when I was wanting her to stop. Alil later, I was riding in her car and saw a shit ton of used cigarettes in her car just gonna week. She said Yeh I have a problem, I think I got addicted....I gave her a huge I told you so, and she promised again to quit ....:/I doubt she did... anyways  Might not seem like a big deal to some, but hey, I care about who ever I'm with. And if that makes a bad person, then maybe we shouldn't be together....So im single,  again and I have the apartment to my self so that's kinda nice. I can bring home projects to work on and not get any looks and statements like "where's that gonna go..."lol
On a way happier note....I just found out that I got the job I interviewed for Friday. I got a job at Rockwell Collins, working in the machine shop. I'll start July 11th, and I'll be roughly making twice the money as I am at my current job! Plus I'll get my own cubical, and ID to get into the building. I think a security clearance as well. If not now, I'll get one later on. Rockwell does alot of government/military work, mostly on aircraft radios, radars, stuff like that.:)  The 2 guys who interviewed me really seemed to like me, they're both classic car guys, so we instantly got along, it really didn't feel much like an interview Lol This will be a huge step up in my life , this is just what I needed , I'll never go places with my current job, and as far as money goes,  I was getting screwed over....This new job will have plenty of opportunities for me to learn new things and move up, I really think this will be a good place for me. :)

As far as cars and other projects, I'm still building models, and things. I still have my camera and Olds at my parents. I found out why my Olds keeps stalling and dying as soon as I put it into drive. It's a sensor near the transmission that's going bad. I have the part, I just need a free weekend  to go over there. I still need to fix the ac, I have a few parts for it, I just have some of the parts to fix that, bit one I start this new job I'll be able to afford the rest without going broke. The Olds still runs and drives  great. It's just that when I drive it long enough  to get to a certain temp , itll start shaking and hesitating everytime I come to a stop, or use the brakes to slow down, kinda like when you're driving a standard and you forget to use the clutch while you're stopping .

Anyways just thought I'd let everyone know that I'm not dead and what all has been going on with me :)

I may be a tad late on this one but 10 years ago, sometime before Halloween (wish i knew the exact date) is when i got my first car, my 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass My Olds by vash68 An Engine Clean Enough to Eat off of by vash68, which I have today. :) I've done of work to it, the first thing i did was wash it, then i started to gradually detail the hell out of parts, more recently the engine. My dad and I rebuilt the engine to fix the oil leak it had, and an emissions issue. Its not the best looking, and running 93 olds on the road!! There's a decreasing number of these things on the road, its been several months since Ive seen any on the road, when i do see one, its in sad shape. The A/c went out months ago, so its been sitting long while, until I get the parts. With the weather cooling off, i can probably start driving it again.  Those of you that are new watchers, this car is very important to me. Not only it was my first car, but it belonged to my Grandpa, who was the one who got me interested in cars (particularly classic cars), WW2 history as well as general history.  This was the last car he bought new, years later he gave it to my cousin, my cousin got a Beemer, (which later crapped out on him, and made him wish he still had the Olds) and the car found its way to me, all covered in tree sap, and in need of some love. The paint looked so dirty, when i first saw the car in person I thought the paint wasnt going to be saveable. But after a good wash, and some coats of wax, I got the paint to shine up just as nice as it looks today. Lucky for me, I have another car that's my daily driver, and I dont have to worry about anything happening to my Olds. I still care just as much for my Taurus as I do the olds, its just I've done way more work to the Cutlass, and its more unique being as  well preserved as it is for a 22 year old car! :) Its still a work in progress, my biggest issue is the dash. the padding is in great shape, but the plastic shell is cracking....my best solution to fix that is to pull out the dash and reinforce the  back with  a few layers fiberglass resin and cloth, I've this done before on another project. I would replace it, but I cant find any replacements, and all the ones in the junkyards may be in worse shape (with this being Texas).  And then theres nit picky things like missing trim piece on the fender, a chipped headlight, and a broken ashtray. All of that i can either find on ebay, or in a junkyard.

Hello, again!

5 min read
I'm sorry i keep dissapearing, and reappearing like this...Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes,! I had a great birthday with celebration with my gf, and her and another with my family. My gf took me to see Jurassic World, which i reaaaaaaalllyyyy enjoyed! I loved it! Plus we got some really nice Jurassic world glasses (the kind you drink from lol) when we bought our tickets, that was the icing on the cake. I mainly just wanted mney for my b-day so thats what i got. I was on the look out for a Lindberg Jurassic park explorer kit for awhile. SO i found one on ebay, payed up a bit for it and my dad gave me money for it on my birthday. So here's my next big model project (those of you on facebook already know what im up to and seen the progress pics lol) I'm converting the 2 door Jurassic park ford explorer into a 4 door, using another lindberg explorer! I owe the rest of you guys some pics, I've come along way with it! the body is mostly done, im just working on the top, and the glass section for it.

About a month before my birthday, Rebecca and i took a weekend trip to Port Aransas to deep sea fish, and just relax on the beach. Shes never been to Port A, and i have almost every year for alil over 20 years! :)  This was my first time actually driving on a long road trip. We took my taurus, and just took turn driving, which wasnt bad at all :) We had a great time there, except for the fishing part.....The night before the trip, we has a really bad storm, which made the water really rough. We called the boat place to see if theyre still going out, and they said it wasnt that bad so well be going out. Right as the boat was leaving the dock, one of the deckhands said "its going to be really rough out there, well be 3 hours out, so more than likely most of you willget sick on this trip." That would have been nice to known like before we got onto the boat?  :/  We had waves up to 15 ft, which were slamiming into the boat! So we got almost to the fishing spot, rebecca and i are both sick and wanting off and all of this to end, when the boat slow, and we heard the captan sqauk something over the PA which we couldnt make out, but it made the deckhands scurry and head into the engine room....not a good thing. They were in there for some time, until one came out and said "the starboard blower on one of our engines went out, so were down to one engine. The captain decided that well  head back, and well give you guys a refund" So there we spent another torturous 3 hours back to the dock being tossed around, again! So we get back to the dock, and we try to get a cash refund, but they gave us vouchers instead. We ask if we could have a cash refund, but the lady at the desk said wed have to come back 3 hours later so the owner can give us the refund.. We came back 3 hours later, the owner wasnt there. Rebecca was the one who payed for the fishing trip, so she called her bank and asked if they could take the charge off and get her money back. We also found out later, that none of the other fishing boats went out that day, and played it safe.  Almost a month later and hearing alot of bs from the boat place, she finally got her money back! Other than that we had plenty of beach time, and we got to drive around and try out a few places to eat, and shop at. We'll have another trip back there, next time well go with another charter company for the fishing trip.

Anyways...my job is, meh....I'm getting f**ked over with my pay. I'm way over due for my next raise, i kept bugging and bugging them and i keep hearing "oh so and so forgot to do this, or so and so forgot the paperwork" you know typical bs excuses...Not only i run the water jet there, but im trained to run just about every piece of machinery in thier shop, and they're just taking advantage of me. The guy before was making more than me, and he wasnt even trained on the other machines like i am...:/ So this week I'll start job hunting, maybe try to find a job someplace thats similar to what im doing now. I love what im doing, but the longer i stay there, the more im getting screwd over. I want to move on with my life, move  to someplace, get married, and etc, but i cant on such a dinky salary. Just to put it all into perspective, I water jet all the parts and pieces to all of our production jobs we get, and theyre bs'ing around with my raise, not taking me seriously....i cant wait to see how they react when I'll tell that that i found another job, and that i'm quitting. I know ill be hard for them to replace... Ive already sent a resume to my dad's job at the machine shop there, not expecting to hear anything, but hey its a shot at something! ill see what else is out there starting tomorrow.
