My jeep model, and Award

Taken at the model contest, just wish the other models stick around so i could have taken a pic of the competition. I know there was atleast a Civil War Cannon i was up against. I'll get a better outdoor pic of this model sometime pretty soon, and a close up of the engine bay.
Its a Hasegawa 1/24th scale kit I built when i was still in highschool, durring the month my grandpa passed away. This is a model loosely based on one of the many jeeps he drove during WW2, when he was in France. Wish he was alive to see it, he's very picky with details on models, and I'm pretty sure he would have been blown away! I did alot of scratch building, mainly in the engine compartment. throttle linkage, plug wires, fuel, and oil lines, headlight brackets, radiator support rod, even straps made from masking tape holding the shovel on.

This model has a very special place on the shelf in a case with all my military antiques (some of the things I have belonged to him)
