My second cobra I've built, the first one was a different kit and ended up a disaster..:/ This is the recent Revell kit, and I'd have to say I'm VERY happy with this one! :D This is actually my favorite variant of the Cobra, the angled canopy just looks more intimidating to me, and the way the mechanism for the nose turret is out in the open, just adds to meanness of it. This is the first aircraft I've done in a desert paint scheme btw, I chose the "Sand Shark" paint scheme just because I like building aircraft models with character, and personality :)
Anyways, i just built this as a quick, box stock build, since this is only my 4th helicopter model, I didn't expect to finish it without a few flaws that would keep me from wanting to enter it in any contests. Now that I'm done with it, I think its model contest worthy:)

The paint I used was just model master acrylic "Sand" with a testers flat clear to seal up the decals, and a light brown wash all over. As for the blades I figured since the aircraft was out in the desert sun 24/7 during Desert Storm, , they wouldn't look right pure black, so i faded the black some mixing in medium grey, which i also coated in Testors flat clear so it looked uniform with the rest of the copter. .
The only non-box stock thing i added was a tiny blade antenna on the tail made from some thin coper. The kit had one molded to the tail, but it broke off while i was carefully sanding the seams :/

I know that an AH-64 Apache could easily out gun and destroy an AH-1 Cobra (partly because it's much more advanced than a cobra), but I still think that the AH-1's still have a meaner look to them.

This is a well built kit, BTW.
