My latest train project. by vash68
My latest train project.
I bought this on eBay about a week ago. I figured, now that I'm making alil more money, I can go after one of the classic Lionel engines that I have always wanted to get. This is a Lionel 2343 F3 from about 1950. It has duel Motors, magni-traction (magnetic wheels), a battery operated horn, and details like separate ladders and wire mesh screens, very top of the line for the1950s :) When it got it,it ran perfectly without any work. The big issue was that somebody left a battery in it and it really corroded the frame. The battery is actually fused to the frame! So pretty pretty quickly I was able to find another , original die-cast frame, with the battery cover for around 20 bucks, on eBay. Transferring all the parts over to the new chassis was very easy, I only had to unsodder one wire, and then all the other parts just unscrewed and came out very easily. I just studied a new battery inside to test the horn and it works! It sounds jist like a miniature diesel horn ! Lol no worries, I won't leave the battery inside it like the last guy did! Lol For the most part it's pretty much done. I just need to replace one ladder, and a few of the clear portholes that are missing. This is my favorite paint scheme on a locomotive,so there's no chance that I'll be selling it or parting with it in any way :)

Oh and my monster transformer you see in the pic is my early 1950s Lionel ZW transformer. It was a freebie that somebody said was in a flooded basement. All it needed was a new cord, and now it's working like new. This was clearly made back when America made quality products that lasted! I'll post a pic if anyone wants to see it.

My Birthday Present Finally Got Here! by vash68
My Birthday Present Finally Got Here!
This is what I asked for from my parents a month before my birthday, a kit of Indiana Jones and Henry Jones escaping on a BMW motorcycle . That was one of my favorite scenes from the movie. The reason why it took so long was that it was on back order for awhile, then it had to be shipped from the UK to somewhere else, then here lol. I just kinda discovered this kit by accident, and it's a very high quality kit! Its mostly white metal, 1 resin sidecar, and some photoetch. What's kinda funny to me, is that this company avoids having to use copyrighted names and titles for all of their movie related kits. So the 2 figures are names "The Professor" and "the Archaeologist" lol. The box art is inaccurate, because they're being chased by a plane, which they weren't when they were online motorcycle ...oh well.... The bike is pretty detailed, just missing a few small details like a gun mount on the sidecar, and an ammo box that mounts on the side. I should be able to find those in my parts boxes. It's 1/32 scale, so it's not going to take up much space, and I can use 35th scale parts to add to it.:)

My models are slowly taking over! by vash68
My models are slowly taking over!
I started my new job 2 weeks ago, and things are really going well. I've met alot of nice people, and I'm already making friends, and learning alot. So here's my cube so far. As of now I just have my Hasegawa F8 Crusader, and a Revell 1969 ZL1 camaro, both of those I built myself. I might bring more later on. I'm not too concerned about theft, because there's security cameras in every doorway, but I'm still not going to bring in anything of valuable. Just ones I did out of the box without as many mods, or detail work.

67 Yenko engine
I added my usual details to the engine, fuel line, plug wires, heater hoses, and an oil dipstick. I later added a 427 air cleaner decal, in my decals stash, which for some reason couldn't find earlier for this..lol

Well guys, here I am again, I really need to get active again on here. Kinda had a lot going on with me. First of all, relationship issues. My girlfriend and I broke up awhile back, we just pretty much drifted apart. Before we broke up, she started  smoking, which I have a strong opinion against, not only its trashy, but it's harmful to your health, and anyone around you :/ I was bugging her and bugging her to quit, she kept promising to stop but never did. She thought if you didn't do it often, you won't get addicted and it won't hurt you. She pretty much thought I was crazy for caring about her health and didn't know what I was talking about when I was wanting her to stop. Alil later, I was riding in her car and saw a shit ton of used cigarettes in her car just gonna week. She said Yeh I have a problem, I think I got addicted....I gave her a huge I told you so, and she promised again to quit ....:/I doubt she did... anyways  Might not seem like a big deal to some, but hey, I care about who ever I'm with. And if that makes a bad person, then maybe we shouldn't be together....So im single,  again and I have the apartment to my self so that's kinda nice. I can bring home projects to work on and not get any looks and statements like "where's that gonna go..."lol
On a way happier note....I just found out that I got the job I interviewed for Friday. I got a job at Rockwell Collins, working in the machine shop. I'll start July 11th, and I'll be roughly making twice the money as I am at my current job! Plus I'll get my own cubical, and ID to get into the building. I think a security clearance as well. If not now, I'll get one later on. Rockwell does alot of government/military work, mostly on aircraft radios, radars, stuff like that.:)  The 2 guys who interviewed me really seemed to like me, they're both classic car guys, so we instantly got along, it really didn't feel much like an interview Lol This will be a huge step up in my life , this is just what I needed , I'll never go places with my current job, and as far as money goes,  I was getting screwed over....This new job will have plenty of opportunities for me to learn new things and move up, I really think this will be a good place for me. :)

As far as cars and other projects, I'm still building models, and things. I still have my camera and Olds at my parents. I found out why my Olds keeps stalling and dying as soon as I put it into drive. It's a sensor near the transmission that's going bad. I have the part, I just need a free weekend  to go over there. I still need to fix the ac, I have a few parts for it, I just have some of the parts to fix that, bit one I start this new job I'll be able to afford the rest without going broke. The Olds still runs and drives  great. It's just that when I drive it long enough  to get to a certain temp , itll start shaking and hesitating everytime I come to a stop, or use the brakes to slow down, kinda like when you're driving a standard and you forget to use the clutch while you're stopping .

Anyways just thought I'd let everyone know that I'm not dead and what all has been going on with me :)
